COME TO THE COACH - Events Schedule --
The motor coach called "The Drive For Prostate Health" is a clinic on wheels that promises to make a difference in your future prostate health decisions. The motor coach will offer all of its services as part of our community commitment to you, the patient.
MISSION STATEMENT: Our goal is to decrease the number of prostate cancer deaths through screening and education. We believe that an earlier diagnosis of disease and knowledge of all options empowers the patient to make better health decisions. The better the decision, the longer you'll live a quality life.
In addition to prostate health information, Prostate Disease Recognition Tests will be available. The PSA blood test is a prostate disease recognition test that serves as a barometer of prostate health. Patients are reminded that a PSA must be less than one ng/ml to be considered normal while associated with an absence of voiding symptoms. To qualify for this test, men are reminded to avoid sexual activity 48 hours prior to the blood draw.
In addition, the digital rectal exam (DRE) is a prostate disease recognition test that will also be available. The DRE and PSA blood test have combined over the years to predict the presence of prostate disease through screening programs in tens of thousands of unsuspecting patients.
The motor coach will be staffed by medical professionals to answer your questions and assist your diagnostic needs. Educational material from participating pharmaceutical and allied medical groups will be available at no charge.
